Research centre to be opened at Amrita

Amrita University will inaugurate Amrita Automotive Research and Technology Centre (AARTC) as a joint venture between Amrita University and Automotive Test Systems on January 28.

According to a release, the centre is a Rs. 15-crore facility, which will assist the automotive industry in vehicle evaluation, vehicle cooling and HVAC studies, road load data and others.

The centre will help research scholars gain hands-on experience by giving them opportunity to participate in research projects aimed at developing technologies for the Government and industry as well.

First phase

In the first phase, the centre, spread over 4,000 sq.m., has facilities for vehicle evaluation, engine testing, development and basic NVH. The second phase will be ready by this year end.
