A metropolitan magistrate’s court here on Wednesday allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation probing the Sheena Bora murder case to interrogate the accused Indrani Mukherjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai in their respective jail premises. The order comes a day after Indrani was discharged from the J.J. Hospital after undergoing treatment for an alleged drug overdose.

The CBI could interrogate the trio till October 19, their next remand date. While Indrani’s lawyer Gunjan Mangla expressed no objection, Shyamvar’s lawyer said he opposed the CBI’s plea. Sanjeev’s defence agreed to the interrogation, provided it was on new grounds. The CBI formally took over the high-profile case from the Mumbai police on September 29 and filed a case against the three accused for murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, administering poison and causing hurt.

Sheena, a 25-year-old executive in a private company, was murdered on April 24, 2012 and her body was disposed of in a jungle in Pen, in Raigad district, where it was allegedly burnt.
