Amazon layoffs
Amazon will lay off staff members in the U.S., Canada, and Costa Rica as it moves to fire 18,000 employees, the e-commerce giant said in a memo to staff, according to a report from Reuters.

The company is terminating some 2,300 employees in Seattle and Bellevue, according to an update on the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) site. The layoffs are the latest in the U.S. technology sector, with companies cutting their bloated workforce and slashing costs to reverse pandemic-era excesses and prepare for a worsening global economy.
Spotify urges action against Apple
Spotify joined media firms such as Deezer to urge the European Commission to take action against Apple Inc. for ‘unfair’ and ‘anti-competitive’ practices in a joint industry letter.

Spotify has for years accused Apple of abusing its market position, using its App Store rules to stifle competition. The company had earlier submitted antitrust complaints against Apple in various countries alleging the 30% charge Apple requires developers to pay on its App Store has forced it to “artificially inflate” its own prices.
Altman debunks ChatGPT4 misinformation
OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, debunked false information surrounding the company’s upcoming ChatGPT4 in interaction with StrictlyVC. When asked to verify a viral graphic that claimed that while ChatGPT3 was trained on billions of pieces of data, which would be just a speck when compared to the data being fed to ChatGPT4, Altman called the ChatGPT4 rumour mill a “ridiculous thing”.
Altman also said that he did not have an “actual AGI” - an artificial general intelligence that could rival humans in learning and existence.
