A key witness in the T.P. Chandrasekharan murder case during his deposition in trial court on Friday identified some of the main accused who had reached the Koothuparamba area committee office of the CPI(M) a day after the incident.
The case related to the killing of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader at Onchiyam on May 4, 2012.
Testifying before R. Narayana Pisharadi, special judge of the Special Additional District and Sessions Court (Marad cases), the witness V. Nityananandan, said that he had seen the third accused N.K. Sunil Kumar, aka Kodi Suni, and five others arriving in a autorickshaw at the Koothuparamba area committee of the CPI (M) at 8.30 p.m. on May 5, 2012. They were escorted to the office by K. Dhananjayan, 70th accused and secretary of the Koothuparamba area committee of the CPI (M), and C. Babu, 42nd accused and office secretary, he said.

He identified in court Kodi Suni , Dhananjayan and Babu, who were previously known to him.
He also identified M.C. Anoop (first accused); Manoj Kumar, aka Kirmani Manoj, (second accused); K.K. Mohammed Shafi (fifth accused), K. Shinoj (seventh accused) and C.K. Rajikanth (25th accused).
The examination of the witness, who was formerly a worker of the CPI (M), gave the prosecution a chance to prove the alleged links between the assailants and the local CPI (M) leadership. The Special prosecutor C.K. Sreedharan examined the witness.

However, the prosecution also received a jolt when another witness, C. Anoop turned hostile in court.
He was to testify that he had seen the police seize a washing machine from the house of the second house Kirmani Manoj that had been used to wash blood stained clothes.
He retracted that statement he had given to the investigators.
But, he admitted that he had signed the search mahassar prepared by the police when he was at the Pandakkal reading room at that time.
Meanwhile the prosecution has decided to submit a fresh list of witnesses to the court for examination from April 16.
