The carcass of an adult male rhino was recovered from the wetlands near Brahmaputra river in Morigaon district of Assam on Friday.

The rhino was killed by poachers and its horn has been chopped off, Forest department officials said.

The animal was killed during the past 48 hours and left at Sheetalmari char under Belguri police station, they said.
