Nine-year-old raped in Bangalore

A nine-year-old girl was raped by her 40-year-old neighbour in Sampigehalli in Bangalore on Wednesday.

The victim, the daughter of a saw mill employee was alone when the incident occurred.

According to Sampigehalli police, the victim was staying with her parents in a quarters provided by the employer of the saw mill.

The accused, identified as Lakshman noticed that the girl was alone, gagged her and took her to an isolated place where he raped her.

The incident came to light when the parents returned and noticed the girl was bleeding and crying inconsolably.

Upon asking her she narrated the incident following which she was rushed to hospital where doctors confirmed rape.

The Sampigehalli police have arrested Lakshman and subjected him to a medical test.
