London 2012 is still some time away, but the Olympic velodrome is already in a race —it was shortlisted for the 2011 Stirling Prize for architecture and narrowly lost out the top spot. The winner — a school (the Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton, south London) — was announced at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Stirling Prize dinner, on Saturday, October 1, 2011.
