Dal lake would be conserved scientifically: DCM

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said government is fully focused on scientific conservation of the Dal Lake.

Mr. Tara made the remark while inspecting various work executed by Lakes and Water Ways Development Authority for preservation of Dal and its surrounding areas here today.

Officials of the Authority on the site said since April, 5000 cubic meter dredging has been done, 40,000 cubic meter de-weeding completed and 5600 sq. meter Lily pads have already been extracted from the Lake.

The officials informed the Deputy Chief Minister that 3 new Trucker machines have already arrived from Switzerland which would be used to clean the backwaters, Dal channels as well as shallow areas.
