What is 'Gombe Chimpanzee War' in Anthropology

This refers to the violent conflict between two chimpanzee groups, the Kahama and the Kasakela, at the Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania between 1974 and 1978. It was documented by British anthropologist Jane Goodall. The war between the chimpanzees came as a surprise to Goodall as inter-group violence between these animals was undocumented previously. This episode has been used by many anthropologists to argue that violence may be innate in the nature of chimpanzees, as well as in human beings who are their close biological relatives.
