Jobs going south

Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) releases estimated monthly unemployment figures for every State in India.

A look at the figures over time shows that the rates had come down in 2017 after demonetisation (due to a spike in MNREGA jobs) but increased again in 2018. It would have become much worse if not for the southern States, where unemployment receded in 2018.
