The Gujarat government has virtually refused to divulge the details of the expenses made for Chief Minister Narendra Modi's three-day ‘Sadbhavana Mission' fast held in Ahmedabad from September 17.
In its response to an RTI application made by the Vadodara-based RTI activists and environmentalists, Rohit Prajapati and Trupti Shah, the Deputy Secretary of the Home Department, D. R. Patel, said that since various government departments, semi-government organisations and the State-owned boards and corporations were involved, the Home Department was not liable to answer the queries.
Mr. Prajapati and Ms. Shah had filed the application addressed to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on the very first day of the fast, and the application was transferred to the Home Department by the CMO the same day.

However, at the expiry of the mandatory one-month period for reply, the Home Department has sent the cryptic note, saying it was not bound to answer queries involving multiple disciplines and departments.
