Three months after four persons were killed in a police firing at Forbesganj in Bihar's Araria district, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday set out on a ‘justice march' to the city to console the victims' families. He will reach Forbesganj on Monday morning.
On June 3 at Bhajanpura, four persons, including a pregnant woman and an infant, were killed when the police fired at a crowd that had demolished the boundary wall of Auro Sundaram International Company, alleging that it obstructed the villagers' only link road to Bhajanpura. Word about the incident spread wide after the circulation of mobile phone clippings purporting to show a jawan repeatedly kicking and stomping on an injured victim.
“The government has not even given any compensation to the families of the victims and has tried to justify its failure by saying it would be paid only when the judicial commission came out with its report,” Mr. Prasad said, charging the government with “utter insensitivity.”

He rubbished the claim of the JD(U) that his visit would rupture communal harmony in the volatile Araria, arguing that the “march” was being undertaken to console the bereaved families.
