BJP committed to best MSP for ryots: Haribabu

BJP Seemandhra unit president promises to set up a Special Food Zone in the region, if voted to power. Former Union Minister U.V. Krishnam Raju had asked the BJP cadre to strive hard to bring the party into power in Seemandhra by 2019.

Bharatiya Janata Party Seemandhra unit president Kambhampati Haribabu has promised farmers of both Seemandhra and Telangana region that the party, if voted to power, will ensure that the ryots get the best Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce, which was never offered by any government in the past. He also said that a ‘Special Food Zone’ would be created to make the farm sector more profitable.

Addressing the “Make Modi as PM and strengthen BJP for development of Seemandhra” meeting in Rajahmundry on Thursday, Mr. Haribabu recalled that Konaseema was the first place in the country where farmers voluntarily had declared a crop holiday and thousands of small farmers had gone bankrupt owing to the mushrooming prawn culture in both Godavari districts, along with other coastal areas in the State.

The BJP leader also warned TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao to hold his tongue on Polavaram issue. He sought to know as to why the latter was seeking the merger of the areas that were facing submergence with Telangana region as the areas were not included in the demerger process which was taken place in 1952.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP campaign committee convener Daggubati Purandhareswari said that the UPA government had lost credibility. She said that only the Modi government at the Center would do justice to Seemandhra people who were deceived by the Union government.

Former Union Minister U.V. Krishnam Raju had asked the BJP cadre to strive hard to bring the party into power in Seemandhra by 2019.
