A.P. encounter: murder case against policemen

Based on the complaint lodged by widow of one the slain woodcutters on Wednesday, the case was registered at Chandragiri police station.

Police have registered a murder case against an unknown number of red sanders anti-smuggling task force personnel involved in the April 7 ‘encounter’ in which 20 wood-cutters from Tamil Nadu were killed in Seshachalam forest area in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. 

Based on the complaint lodged by widow of one the slain woodcutters on Wednesday, the case was registered at Chandragiri police station. According to sources, the case under Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code and other sections was booked.
