The four Champions League Twenty20 Group B matches scheduled at the Eden Gardens on September 25, 27 and 29 have been shifted following forecast of more rain in the coming days.

The decision to shift the matches scheduled for September 25 and 27 to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and the game on September 29 to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, pending approval from local authorities, was taken after discussion between the Cricket Association of Bengal and the CLT20 governing council on Tuesday.

“In the best interests of the tournament, the CAB and the CLT20 have reluctantly agreed to move the four scheduled Group B matches away from the Eden Gardens owing to the heavy rains,” said CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya.

“We are disappointed that we are unable to host the matches. This decision was unavoidable due to the current weather conditions.”

While wishing the tournament good luck, Dalmiya hoped the CAB would get a chance to host the event in the coming years.
