Sharp showers drove the players back to the pavilion after 12 minutes of play on the third day of the Ranji Trophy match between Odisha and Tamil Nadu at the DRIEMS ground on Sunday.

Odisha pace duo of Basant Mohanty and Alok Mangaraj could bowl only 2.1 overs after play started at 12.30 p.m. Before the overnight pair of Abhinav Mukund and Baba Aparajith could score the first run, Mangaraj trapped Mukund in front.

Umpires P.G. Pathak and N. Menon inspected the field at 2 p.m. before calling it off. The final day’s play will start 15 minutes early to accommodate 20 mandatory overs. Rain is forecast for Monday also. In case the game is abandoned, the teams will get a point each
