Narrow win for KSCA Colts

KSCA Colts sealed a narrow 36-run victory over NCA in the KSCA Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappiah Memorial tournament here on Thursday.

Resuming on 223 for five on the fourth and final morning, NCA was led in its pursuit of the target of 375 by Washington Sundar.

His 150, however, went in vain as NCA was dismissed for 338, Mitrakant Yadav finishing with figures of four for 89.

Elsewhere, KSCA XI claimed a bonus point after thrashing Orissa CA by an innings and 18 runs.

Left-arm-spinner J. Suchith took five for 55 for the host.

In Mysuru, a superb spell of left-arm spin bowling by Ravi Jangid (five for 36) helped Vidarbha fight back and gain the upper hand against Tamil Nadu despite conceding a 22-run first innings lead.

Tamil Nadu was reduced to 76 for six in 38 overs at stumps on the third day.

CAB 288 in 95.2 overs and 260 for six in 90 overs (Sudip Chatterjee 95, Pankaj Shaw 67 n.o., Koushik Ghosh 31, Pradipta Pramanik 29 n.o., Ajmer Singh 26, Tushar Saha four for 103) drew with Tripura CA 281 in 152.1 overs.

KSCA Colts 340 in 102.3 overs and 196 in 60.4 overs bt NCA 163 in 43 overs and 338 in 99.3 overs (Washington Sundar 153, Aamir Gani 71, Mitrakant Yadav four for 89).

Orissa CA 195 in 66.2 overs and 265 in 108.3 overs (Biplab Samantray 125, Girija Rout 76, J. Suchith five for 55) lost to KSCA XI 478 in 149.4 overs.

Haryana CA 377 in 108.5 overs and 207 in 62.2 overs bt KSCA President’s XI 240 in 65.1 overs and 208 in 57.5 overs (Anirudha Joshi 61, David Mathias 35, Abrar Kazi 30 n.o., Harshal Patel five for 43, Yuzvendra Chahal three for 55).

At Mysuru: Tamil Nadu 357 in 121.3 overs and 76 for six in 38 overs (B. Indrajith 29, Ravi Jangid five for 36) vs. Vidarbha 335 in 105.3 overs (Ganesh Satish 115, Faiz Fazal 51, Dharmender Ahlawat 50, D.T. Chandrasekhar four for 104, W. Antony Das three for 50).
