Its seam attack is one of the reasons that Chennai Super Kings won four matches in the UAE leg of IPL-VII, said Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming on Thursday, on the eve of his side’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Highlighting the success of Mohit Sharma, Fleming said the team was very happy with what he has done so far.
“Mohit (Sharma) probably comes from a higher level to start with. He has been recognised by the Indian selectors. But he is still relatively new, and yet what he has done is excellent,” he said.

Asked if young hopeful Ishwar Pandey can be expected to deliver similar results, Fleming said that it was the success of the Indian bowers that had given the team good balance.
“We are able to use our overseas powers at the top while we have pretty much an Indian bowling line-up. The strength of our Indian players has allowed us to use our overseas players better,” he said.
Fleming said there would be no shortage of crowd support for his side all across India.

“We are very lucky with fan support we have, and I don’t think it matters where we play. We always get a large contingent of yellow shirts turning up.
“We have enjoyed our time in Chennai; we’ve played beautifully there. The fact is we are not there, but we have done well here too. So, that is two good grounds for us.
“Our support won’t die because we are not playing in Chennai. In fact, it could get stronger, with the fan base we’ve got,” he said.
Ranchi was Kolkata Knight Riders’s home ground last year, and hosted two of its matches.
This year it has been designated Super Kings’ home venue, and will host a couple of the side’s games.
