For the second time in five days, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni sustained a thumb-injury at the ‘nets’.
On the eve of the fourth One-Day International here on Tuesday, Dhoni was hit by a rising delivery from Punjab medium pacer and Chennai Super Kings teammate Manpreet Grewal. The well-built medium pacer was among the bowlers called to bowl to the Indians at the nets.
Dhoni, promptly attended by the team physiotherapist, chose not to continue batting and walked off with his pads on before heading to the team hotel. Considering the cold weather conditions here, the injury is likely to take longer to heal than the one Dhoni dealt with at Ranchi. The injury did not appear serious enough to rule out Dhoni from the key contest on Thursday.

It may be recalled that Dhoni was hit on the thumb by a delivery from the team’s bowling coach Joe Dawes on the eve of the third ODI on January 18.
