BCCI’s open trials for bowlers in April-May

Having completed the first phase of the ‘Talent Search for bowlers’ programme successfully, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) is all set to conduct the second round of Open Trials for pacers and spinners in April-May.

The trials will be limited to the bowlers, who have not featured in any of the BCCI-sanctioned tournament.

The bowlers, who will be selected after the two rounds of trials, will undergo coaching at the various BCCI academies, a Board release said.

The programme is aimed at identifying and grooming new bowling talents across the country.

The first phase of this programme was held at Dharamsala (Feb 18-19), Jammu (Feb 22-23), Ranchi (Feb 25-26) and Raipur (Feb 28-29).

The trials were conducted by Sandeep Patil, Director of Cricket Operations, NCA; Karsan Ghavri, Head Coach of BCCI Academy, Mohali; and Yoginder Puri, Coach of BCCI Academy, Mohali.
