Injured Indian pacer S. Sreesanth on Saturday flew back home while senior batsman V.V.S. Laxman decided to stay back despite being ruled out of the second Test against Bangladesh, starting here on Sunday.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh have recovered from back spasm and stiff neck respectively and will return to the playing XI after missing the Chittagong Test, which India won by 113 runs.

“I practised everything, batting, fielding and keeping and as of now I am fit to play. Bhajji has also completely recovered fully and is fit to play. Laxman is not fit,” Dhoni said at the pre-match press conference after team training at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Sreesanth, who suffered a hamstring strain on the fifth and final day of the first Test, left Dhaka for home in this morning.

Laxman turned up for the training session with a bandage on but avoided fielding with the injured left hand.
