Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been fined for delay in registration of his new Hummer H2 luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV).
“A fine of Rs 100 was imposed for delay in the registration of the car,” an official in the state Transport Department said.
Within a week of buying a car, one has to apply for registration. Dhoni has applied for the registration, but the form submitted was incomplete, the official said.

After the initial fine, if any car owner was caught driving the four-wheeler without registration would be fined Rs 4,500 under Motor Vehicle Act, he said.
Speedster RP Singh had accompanied Dhoni when they drove the Rs one crore (including import duty) Hummer H2 car from Lucknow to Ranchi on July 30.
Dhoni and spinner Harbhajan Singh are the only cricketers to own the Hummer H2 car. This is the second time Dhoni has been fined for cars.

Three years ago, a traffic policeman had fined him for driving a car with tinted window panes as it was banned in Ranchi. Dhoni was unaware of the ban, which came into force when he was on an outstation assignment.
