Taking photos and looking at pictures: New tech products

Canon has announced a new compact digital camera that will hit stores in late May. The Ixus 300 HS offers 10 megapixels of resolution and can shoot 8.4 images per second, Canon claims. It also has a 3.8x optical zoom and up to ISO 3200 light sensitivity. The camera will retail for about 359 dollars.

Digital photo frames from Samsung Washington (dpa) -- Two new digital photo frames from Samsung have shown their faces to the world. The SPF-800W boasts 800 x 600 pixels of resolution on a screen measuring 20.32 centimetres diagonally.

The SPF-1000W comes with 25.40 centimetres diagonally and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Photos can be loaded into the frame either via USB cable or SD and SDHC storage cards. The device itself offers over 1 GB of internal storage space. The units cost 139 dollars for the smaller version and 179 dollars for its bigger brother.

The 800W is already in stores. The 1000W will be joining it in late June.

New entry-level laptop form Asus Washington (dpa) -- Asus is bringing a new entry-level laptop onto the market: the K52F-SX051V comes with an Intel Core i3 350M processor inside, its manufacturer reports. The unit has a display measuring 39.6 cm diagonally with 1366 x 768 pixels of resolution.

The hard drive holds 500 gigabytes (GB) of data, with 4 GB of RAM included as well. The 2.7 kg laptop costs 699 dollars.
