Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2010 and .Net Framework now in India

In line with the global launch, Microsoft on Monday announced the general availability of Visual Studio 2010 and .Net Framework 4 in India and that Silverlight 4 technology will be released to the web later in the week.

“Together, these technologies simplify the entire development process, enabling developers to build new platforms and build high-quality applications”, S. Somasegar, Senior Vice President, Microsoft Corporation said delivering the keynote address at the TechED India 2010, a technology conclave which commenced here today.

“Visual 2010 is going to help developers to accelerate design, develop and deploy”, he said.

Microsoft’s top 50 partners have also made available products and solutions based on its latest wave of developer technologies, he said.

The Visual Studio 2010 and .Net Framework 4 ensures enhancements for every developer. For the first time, developers have integrated access to SharePoint functionality into the visual studio integrated development environment, he said.

Somasegar said with .NET Framework four client profile, the runtime has been decreased by over 80 percent. Silverlight four, offers powerful media and business applications capabilities that enable developers to deliver compelling application experiences on the web.
