Infosys to work with BMW

Infosys Technologies has announced that it has been selected by the BMW Group as its worldwide partner for application-basis infrastructure management services. The Indian IT major will now open a new delivery centre in Munich, Germany, which will form an integral part of a global service delivery team from Infosys, the company said in a release.

The five-year engagement with Infosys will cover services such as maintenance and operations of the web infrastructure, content management, SAP Basis operations, IT for IT (the company’s internal IT system) and the business intelligence systems of BMW Group.

In a release, Ashok Vemuri, Member of the Board, Global Head of Manufacturing and Engineering Services, Infosys, said: “Infrastructure management is no longer just about short-term efficiency and productivity gains. It also requires a partner that can help build an IT organisation that is future relevant. Our new delivery centre in Munich will help us achieve this objective for BMW and allow us to expand our local presence in a key growth market.”
