Aeronautical Society to hold AGM, convention in Bangalore

The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) would hold its 61st annual general meeting and a national convention on “The Frontiers of Aeronautical Technologies” here on April 10 and 11.

Karnataka Governor H. R. Bhardwaj would inaugurate the convention, Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal P. K. Barbora would deliver the “Neelakantan Memorial Lecture”, while AeSI President and Chairman of Kingfisher Airline Ltd Vijay Mallya would preside.

Director General, Civil Aviation, Nasim Zaidi would deliver Dr Biren Roy Memorial Lecture while NAL Director A R Upadhya would deliver Prof Satish Dhawan AR & DB lecture and senior ISRO scientist M. Annadurai would deliver Kalpana Chawla Memorial lecture, Chairman of AeSI Bangalore branch, T. Mohana Rao told reporters here today.

On the second day, V. K. Saraswat, Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister, would deliver the keynote address, while there would be invited talks by HAL Chairman Ashok Nayak, and Associate Director of ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) V. Adimurthy, among others.

The AeSI’s objective is to promote the advancement and nationwide diffusion of the knowledge of aeronautical sciences and aircraft engineering among various streams including industry, academia and research laboratories.
