War in Afghanistan

The article-cum-interview “ >Humanitarianism is as culpable as war ” (Jan.10) depicted a clear picture of the consequences of war in Afghanistan. It should motivate us readers to take up the initiative to serve the society in which we live to the best of our ability. The international culpability should also be investigated so that humanitarianism is really established. People should be motivated to promote humanism and brotherhood.

Academicians coin emancipatory phrases with the good intention of preserving the sovereignty of countries and preventing from civil war. But these very phrases — humanitarian intervention, protecting human rights, responsibility to protect — are the ones which the oppressor uses to couch cruel intentions and justify its strategic designs in order to maintain its global hegemony.
