Unacceptable

It appears that the level of tolerance in our MPs is very low. They overreact to almost everything. It is one thing to protest against the government's policies but quite another to go to the extent of disrupting Parliament's proceedings. They have thrown protocol and etiquette to the winds and crossed all limits of decency. The Speaker becomes speechless in the wake of the disturbances they create.

Parliament is where the members are expected to display their knowledge and commitment to people's issues. They are not expected to waste their time and energy. As for the people who are watching the proceedings with a smile, their level of tolerance is abnormally high.

The whole nation is witnessing the proceedings of Parliament with anxiety and anger. Parliament's value stands diminished when its day-to-day affairs are paralysed on one pretext or the other. Fighting and shouting will not lead to any solution for the common man's problems. Let Parliament function as a true democratic forum.

It was sad to see Parliament disrupted for the third day. The Opposition should understand that the tabling of some important bills is being delayed. The UPA government is already on the back foot. Why embarrass it further? It would be better if all parties came out with a concrete solution to help control inflation.
