‘Supremo culture’

March 25, 2015 02:12 am | Updated 02:12 am IST

There is a thin line between providing effective leadership and having centralised power. The AAP is not following the trend of being a party where the ‘ >supremo culture ’ prevails; rather, it is a classic example where the leader believes in the will of the people while taking decisions. Mr. Kejriwal is someone who wants to dismantle a centralised authority which is evident from the fact that he relied on public consent even on the crucial decision of government formation on an earlier occasion. One cannot take the ‘fracas’ within the party to be symptomatic of a collapse. Rather, it shows that decisions have to be taken on the basis of the will of all and not a few.
