The issue may well be resolved soon, but West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s act of taking on the Election Commission (April 8) sets a dangerous trend and has all the makings of a looming constitutional crisis. The EC is a body that has established its neutrality and credibility over the years. It must be enabled to stand up to such bullying.
