‘Serial killers’

April 28, 2010 11:37 pm | Updated 11:37 pm IST

This refers to the article “These are serial killers too!” (Open Page, April 25). TV serials, besides spoiling age-old moral and family values, have become ‘serial killers' too since most women who are watching the serials hours on end without any bodily movement become obese. If women are ‘serial addicts,' men do one up: they are watching the news telecasts/sports programmes from multiple channels. Every segment has its own preference. Dance and music sequences appeal to the young who sit glued to the idiot box.

Television viewing has become a major factor responsible for the deterioration of the reading habit among people irrespective of age.
