The growing trends of civil society being silent on intolerant politics is a cause of concern. The Nobel peace prize for the Tunisian dialogue quartet, including the UGTT, should help civil society find its voice (“Honouring a robust civil society,” Oct.12), lest the fringe elements of various colours turn the world’s largest democracy into a ‘managed democracy’.
