It is unfortunate that speedster Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been given a raw deal by the team think-tank in the second Test against South Africa at SuperSport Park, Centurion. The Indian star stood tall in the first Test at Cape Town, scalping six victims and was the most impressive of the bowlers from the visiting side. Many former players from both countries have found his omission hard to digest. Such questionable measures can only serve to dent a cricketer’s confidence. The team management would do well to persist with players who perform.
