‘Crony capitalism’

This refers to the report, “Modi must break silence on gas pricing: Kejriwal” (Feb.16). Has Mr. Kejriwal discovered something new about the corporate-government nexus? The two have been in a tango right from Independence. In this connection, I would like to know how he would react to Mahatma Gandhi’s association with Jamnalal Bajaj and his stay in Birla House in New Delhi. Mr. Kejriwal should not forget that corporate houses are major partners in the country’s development goals. If the private sector is being blamed now for vitiating the country’s political climate, nothing stops PSUs and state-run enterprises from contributing to governance.

‘Nightmare’ comment

Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s (probably sarcastic) comment on the AAP government’s exit, that the “nightmare is over” is odd (Feb.15). Perhaps he meant it the other way. He knows the BJP faces an uphill task in the Lok Sabha poll now that Mr. Kejriwal does not have power. Ever since the AAP was formed, the BJP has been trying to keep its cool, but in vain.
