Corrections and Clarifications -- July 20, 2013

July 19, 2013 06:47 pm | Updated 06:47 pm IST

>>Our own inadvertence: The entry in the Corrections and Clarifications column (July 19, 2013) got the spelling of inadvertently wrong.

>>Late correction: The headline “Justice Sathasivam, first judge from Tamil Nadu, to become CJI” (June 30, 2013) is wrong. The headline and the relevant part of the text of the report under this headline should be modified, reflecting the fact that Justice Sathasivam is not the first Chief Justice of India from Tamil Nadu. Actually, that distinction goes to M. Patanjali Sastri, the second CJI, who served from November 7, 1951 to January 3, 1954.
