>>The blurb in the front-page report, “Poverty levels down by 15% in eight years” (July 17, 2013, some editions), wrongly said the latest NSSO data showed a decline from 37% in 2011-12 to 22% in 2004-05 for all of India. It should have been 37% in 2004-05 to 22% in 2011-12. The text of the report had given the respective years correctly.

>>A sentence in “Campaign hots up in Maldives” (July 17, 2013, International) read: “An academic who gave direction to MDP [Maldivian Democratic Party] during a period of political stress (2008-2012), Mr. Lutfi … in Maldives.” Actually, Mr. Lufti gave direction to Maldivian National University.

>>July 12 is Malala Day. It is not November 10 as the report, “Books, pens are most powerful weapons” (July 13, 2013, some editions), said. It was an editing error.

>>A sentence in “RBI steps in to ease rupee volatility” (July 16, 2013, Business page) read: “The RBI now increased the MSF [marginal standing facility] rate to 10.5 per cent.” It should have been 10.25 per cent.
