Six Telangana Rashtra Samithi mandal level leaders were allegedly kidnapped by suspected Maoists from the remote Pusuguppa village in Charla mandal late on Wednesday evening.

News of the alleged abduction of the TRS local leaders emerged on Thursday afternoon after the ruling party leaders did not return to their respective homes from the remote village where they had gone to meet some persons on Wednesday, sources said.

However, no complaint has been lodged with the local police in this regard till the reports last came in. The incident occurred a few kilometers away from the volatile inter-State border with the strife-torn areas of neighbouring Chhattisgarh.

It created ripples among the ruling party cadres in the far flung tribal pockets of Bhadrachalam Agency area.

Meanwhile, a letter in the name of CPI (Maoist) reportedly surfaced in Charla on Thursday. The rebels, through the letter, demanded the Government immediately halt “fake encounters” in the agency areas.
