Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday said over Rs 750 crore worth land grabbed illegally had been recovered and restored to their rightful owners since the AIADMK came to power last year.
A total of 34,703 complaints had been received and 1317.15 acres recovered and restored to their rightful owners, she told the State assembly.
A total of 391 land grabbing cells had been formed in the State, she said.

The Chief Minister denied that the effort was aimed against her party’s arch rival, the DMK, saying non-DMK members against whom complaints have been received had also faced action.
Scores of DMK members including former Ministers had been arrested in connection with land-grab cases after the AIADMK came to power last year.
DMK strongmen Veerapandi S Arumugam, K N Nehru and K Ponmudi are among those who were arrested.

'UPA govt. neglects State'
Taking a swipe at the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, the Chief Minister today charged it with neglecting the State, indicating that it was against her.
“The Central government seems to think that Tamil Nadu should not be allowed to flourish as Jayalalithaa will grow into a major force if all her demands are met with,” she said.
Replying to the Home Department grants in the Assembly, she said the State’s monthly kerosene quota had been reduced by half after AIADMK government came to power and her repeated pleas for funds and electricity had yielded no result.
“Irrespective of the number of pleas, there has been no allocation of funds or additional electricity even as people are groping in the dark. The Centre’s actions are aimed at ensuring Tamil Nadu does not grow,” she alleged.
