Central team to tour T.N., Puducherry to assess ‘Thane’ damage

An Inter-Ministerial team, headed by a senior officer in the Home Ministry, will visit Puducherry and Tamil Nadu to assess damage caused by cyclonic storm "Thane".

The team lead by Lokesh Jha, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been constituted to conduct on-the-spot assessment of the situation in the wake of the cyclonic storm in Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.

The team, which left New Delhi on Friday, consists of the representatives of the Ministries and Departments of Agriculture, Drinking Water, Finance, Health, Power, Road Transport and Highways, Rural Development, Water Resources, Planning Commission and National Disaster Management Authority.
