The former Indian cricket captain, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who is undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here for a lung infection, is in a critical condition.

A health bulletin issued on Wednesday evening by Senior Consultant and Pulmonology Chairman Neeraj Jain said: “Mr. Pataudi continues to be critically ill in the intensive care unit of the hospital. He is on very high-level of oxygen support requiring intermitted Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BIPAP) support.”

Dr. Jain said the 70-year-old Pataudi was conscious and his cardiac function was stable. “His is being monitored very closely by a team of pulmonologists and critical care specialists,” he added.
