Violence broke out in front of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission headquarters on Monday when youths demanding the removal of the Chairman over the issue of leakage of question papers indulged in stone pelting and damaged a state roadways bus.

More than a hundred persons had gathered in front of the UPPSC building, where they raised slogans demanding removal of Chairman Anil Yadav in view of the leakage of question papers for General Studies paper of PCS (Prelims) on Sunday, barely a few hours before the tests began at 9:30 a.m.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s directives for cancelling the paper was met with applause by the agitating aspirants though a section of the protesters declared that they would not budge unless the Chairman is removed whom they held “directly responsible” for the leakage.

According to district police control room, the Provincial Armed Constabulary has been pressed into service to assist the civil police in maintaining order at the UPPSC.
