The Agra administration, in coordination with American security agencies, is ready with an “unprecedented” security arrangement for U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit.
Sunil Kumar Gupta, Inspector General of Police, Agra zone, is in charge of the security arrangement, especially between Kheria airport and Taj Mahal.
A 30-member security team of Mr. Obama has been camping in Agra and is checking the security drill on a daily basis in coordination with the local police. According to Rakesh Modak, SSP Agra, about 100 American security personnel and 5,000 Indian security forces will provide a protective cover to Mr. Obama and his family when they visit Taj Mahal on January 27. The visit is expected to last over an hour and 15 minutes. The monument will be closed to the public that day.
After closing of the Taj on January 26 the security arrangement will be handed over the to the American authorities.on January 27 when the Obamas are expected to visit the 17th century monument of love.

“I cannot disclose the detailed security arrangement but I can tell you that an unprecedented security cover has been put in place right from the airport to the Taj,” Mr. Modak said
after attending the meeting to give final touches to the security arrangement for the high profile visit.
“We have an unprecedented security cover for the first family of the U.S. involving ground to aerial security arrangement,” he added.
CCTV cameras will be installed on the route along Kheri airport and Taj Mahal, covering a distance of about 11 kilometres. A helicopter will provide aerial security to the VVIP family.
A. Satish Ganesh, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), said commandos will be posted on street corners, rooftops and crossings.
He said an advance security drill will be carried out on Thursday.
