Two powerful bombs recovered in Imphal, two arrested

Two powerful bombs were recovered and two persons were on Monday arrested in this connection Laifam Khunou area in Imphal West district, police said.

On a tip-off the police commandos rushed to Laifam Khunou area in the outskirts of the town and recovered from a house the two bombs, the sources said.

Owner of the house E Gyaneshore Singh and along with his accomplice whose name was not yet known have been arrested and interrogation was on, sources said adding that the commandos were also searching the surrounding area.

They said the bombs were meant to be placed at roadside to attack security personnel according to first official reports.
