Dainik Ganadoot Editor Sushil Choudhury, who was arrested in connection with the murder of its three employees, was denied bail on Saturday.
The magistrate sent him to judicial custody till Monday after the police failed to submit case diary.
“The court directed the police to present the case diary on Monday and then will decide on placing him in police remand. We want him in remand for at least five days to get some vital information to complete the investigation,” additional public prosecutor Tapan Saha told journalists. Ending all speculations, the police arrested Mr. Choudhury on Friday on the charge of abetting the murder of a manager, a proofreader and a driver.

They were strangled and repeatedly stabbed to death by two assailants on May 19.
Grilled for hours
Senior police officers grilled the 74-year-old editor-cum-owner of the daily for hours, but they want more questioning to be done to know the exact motive behind the murder and identify the assailants. They, however, refused to say as to why the investigating officer failed to submit the case diary in court as required to stake claim for remand.

The police, however, sent a memo of evidence to court, which reportedly detailed the confession made by Mr. Choudhury during interrogation.
Nevertheless the court insisted on the case diary.
