Three labourers died while four others were injured after a boiler exploded in a scrap yard in Dombivali, on the outskirts of Mumbai. The incident happened around 9.30 a.m. on Friday.

Five fire engines and three water tankers were rushed to the spot. The fire was doused in an hour's time and the officials took another couple of hours to clean up the area.

"A boiler was sold in scrap and one of the parts exploded. The intensity of the explosion can be gauged from the fact that the parts flew and fell around 500 meters away from the shop, "a fire brigade official told
