Tata Steel employee dies after slipping into red hot molten iron bucket

An employee of Tata Steel was killed when he fell down to a red hot molten iron bucket in the factory in Jamshedpur on Friday.

The incident took place when the victim was on night shift duty in LD-2 department in the wee hours, Senior Superintendent of Police Amol V. Homkar said.

The employee is identified as D.P. Singh, a resident of TS flat in Jamshedpur, he said.

The body was yet to be recovered from the bucket as it was feared to have been reduced to ashes, the SSP said.
