A senior government official was shot dead allegedly by unidentified persons inside his official residence here on Tuesday morning, the police said. The assailants reached the house of Rajeev Kumar (50), an Under Secretary in the State Department of Planning, at 4 a.m., had an altercation with him and then shot him, DSP (Sachivalay) Rajesh Singh Prabhakar said.
