Security forces rescue 59 stranded people in J&K

Security forces rescued 59 people trapped in a high altitude area due to inclement weather in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said in Srinagar on Monday.

A joint team of police, army and Beacon forces on Sunday rescued 59 people, including three children, trapped at Semthan Top on Srinagar-Kishtwar road due to inclement weather, they said.

High altitude areas of Kashmir, including Semthan Top, on Sunday received the season’s first snowfall in the valley.
