Unauthorised hoardings on and along the busy DND (Delhi-Noida-Delhi) flyway, which connects the national Capital to neighbouring Noida, were removed as part of a massive drive organised by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Monday.
According to a senior SDMC official, there were about 200 structures, including unipoles, hoardings and wall wraps, along the toll bridge. On October 8, the SDMC’s Advertisement Department had written to the president and CEO of the Noida Toll Bridge Co. Ltd, which operates the flyway, to terminate its MoU. As per the letter, the company had failed to comply with the Outdoor Advertisement Policy, 2007.
“In a joint action of Building, Works and Advertisement departments, various structures carrying advertisement on the Delhi-Noida-Delhi Toll Road on the Delhi side were removed for violations of OAP, 2007,” said an SDMC statement.

Officials said the drive against illegal advertisements will continue in other parts of south Delhi as well.
