Scribe waylaid, attacked in Beed

A journalist with the Marathi daily Dainik Surajya was brutally attacked by a group of persons in Maharashtra’s Beed district on Friday night.

Sanjay Manale was riding on the pillion of a motorbike, when the vehicle was stopped at 10.15 p.m., he was pulled down and hit in the face and leg with an iron rod, Superintendent of Police Dattatray Mandlik told The Hindu on the phone.

“The reason for the attack is also not known.” The police have registered a case of attempt to murder against unknown persons.
